Care & REPAIRS

With a little regular care, your Basalt suit will stay warmer, softer, and more reliable for many seasons.

Everyday
care

Keep it cool. Rinse your suit in cool freshwater after each use and hang it to dry inside out in the shade. Avoid heat: no hot water, hot tubs, washing machines, or dryers.

Store it gently. Fold your suit over a wide hanger or lay it flat.

Skip harsh detergents and bleach. If needed, use a gentle wetsuit-specific cleaner and rinse well.

Salt, sand, and sun are hard on neoprene. These simple habits help your suit stay warmer, softer, and more reliable for many seasons.

Fit & handling

Be kind to the seams. Seams last longer with less strain. When changing, always grab from the knee pad, not above. Pull up from below a seam instead of right on top of it.

Mind the smoothskin panels. Take special care to avoid stress where smoothskin and jersey panels meet, and keep your suit away from sharp objects such as branches, nails, etc. Use the palm of your hand, not your fingers, to adjust the smoothskin.

If you're between sizes, choose the one that feels comfortably snug rather than painfully tight. The neoprene will mold to your body with wear, and suits can shrink slightly with age.

Warranty & Repairs

Basalt wetsuits include a 1-year manufacturing warranty on construction issues such as seam separation or bonding failures without external damage.

Normal wear and tear isn't covered: tears from overstretching, fingernail damage, or damage from heat or improper care.

If you have a concern, email us at hello@basaltsea.com with clear photos, your order number, and a description. We'll recommend the best next step—repair, replacement, or another solution. We work with specialist wetsuit repair shops that understand our materials and construction.
