Wetsuit Returns
We want you to feel good in your Basalt suit. If the size is not right, we offer one return per wetsuit for a size exchange or store credit. We do not offer refunds to the original payment method.
Eligibility Window
You have 14 days from delivery to request a return for exchange or store credit. All returns require approval before sending anything back.
What's Eligible
Wetsuits are eligible for a one-time exchange or store credit only if they are returned in like-new condition and pass inspection. Each Basalt wetsuit is produced in small batches with meticulous attention to detail. Our premium neoprene construction maintains its performance only when handled with care.
To be eligible, your wetsuit must be:
- Unused in the water
- Tried on only on clean, dry skin
- Clean and completely free of sand, salt, sunscreen, deodorant, or fragrance
- Free of any nicks, tears, scratches, scuffs, or imprints
- Tags and quality control card intact
- Returned in the original packaging and packed exactly as shipped
If a return does not meet these requirements, it will be sent back to the customer.
Smoothskin Handling (important)
Smoothskin is a delicate finish and can mark easily during handling and try-on. For Smoothskin returns to be accepted, the suit must arrive completely free of any scratches, scuffs, nicks, or imprints. Please use extra care when trying on and repacking.

We want you to feel confident in your purchase. Before you order:

- Email us at hello@basaltsea.com with your measurements and any fit questions - we're here to help you get it right the first time
How to Request a Return
Email hello@basaltsea.com within 14 days of delivery with:
- Your order number
- The item you’re returning
- Whether you want a size exchange or store credit
- The size you’d like (if exchanging)
If approved, we’ll email return instructions and a shipping address.
Return Shipping + Fees
- Customers are responsible for return shipping costs
- For approved size exchanges, Basalt covers standard shipping for the replacement wetsuit on U.S. orders (one time per order)
- If you prefer expedited shipping, you may pay the difference
- For exchanges outside the U.S., customers are responsible for outbound shipping, duties, and taxes
- We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured return shipping method. Basalt is not responsible for lost or damaged return packages
Packing your Wetsuit
Please pack your wetsuit carefully to prevent damage in transit:
- Use the original box and inner packaging
- Fold neatly with the zipper facing outward, not touching the neoprene
- To help prevent creasing, place the included air pillows in the neck, waist, and behind the knees (as shipped)
- For Smoothskin suits, place the protective cloth sheets:
- between the quality control card and the Smoothskin
- between the leg zippers and the Smoothskin
Damaged or Incorrect Items
Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If something arrives damaged or we sent the wrong item, email hello@basaltsea.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos (the suit laid flat, close-ups of the issue, and the shipping box/label). We'll make it right.
Soft Goods
Soft goods (tees, hats, totes) are not eligible for returns or exchanges. Please check sizing before ordering. If you have questions, we’re happy to help.
Gift cards
Digital gift cards are not eligible for return.
